Author, professor, and writer of the 2012 Buffalo State Common Reading Victor Villanueva spoke to the campus community on November 2.
Villanueva's article "Colonial Memory and the Crime of Rhetoric: Pedro Albizu Campos" is the focal point of a series of events taking place throughout the fall term. The article, which was originally published in College English in 2009, explores issues of rhetoric, colonization, racism, and cultural identity.
The College Writing Program provides the basic writing experience for first-year students and supports and assists in the Writing Across the Curriculum upper-division writing requirement.
The College Writing Program teaches non-fiction writing. Courses are taught by both full-time and part-time faculty.
Dr. Michele Ninacs serves as the director.
